Is my HDD broken, corrupted or something?

You may have switched from a high speed USB 2.0 port to a lower speed USB 1.0 port. The vibrating is caused by the disk needing to spin faster to be able to read/write files faster but because you switched to a slower port, the disk does not need to spin as fast. And, it goes faster or slower more often because USB 1.0 tends to "jump" speeds. Meaning it goes fast and then it can go slow more often than USB 2.0
