If the French decided to inhabit theUK while the english inhabited France, would it change things?

The English would hopefully colonise the neighbouring countries, gradually conquer Europe... rename it 'Great Great Britain'... then go back and reclaim England for queen and country... all in time for tea and sandwiches. Good show old chap.
