Drill Holes on cliff face question.?

I'm working on a highway. After excavation was done, you could see where the holes were drilled for the dynamite on the cliff faces. What I was wandering, is you could see where the lines were offset in some spots. like ________--------______ that except vertical. Is this because of geotechnical movement, or from the initial dynamite explosion?
